With dry wit and a style reminiscent of Douglas Adams after several nice, soothing cups of tea, Darkshire takes us along on his journey from bewildered apprentice to somewhat less bewildered rare bookseller.  Strange customers, peculiar business practices, and excursions to dank cellars in search of items of dubious merit populate this entertaining exploration of antiquarian books and the people who love them.

For true bibliophiles, this is worth checking out for the book design alone: the green and gold design imprinted on the cover calls up childhood classics, the title page is a masterpiece, and I swear they even made it smell like an old book.
