A Silent Voice: The Movie

A heartfelt tale of redemption and forgiveness

This anime adaptation of Yoshitoki Oima's manga series follows Shoya Ishida and his path to redemption after he bullies his deaf classmate, Shoko Nishimiya, to the point of her transferring schools. While it does cut extensive amounts of content from the original series (as expected when condensing 7 volumes into 2 hours of film), the movie perfectly preserves the manga's original message, complementing it with a stellar soundtrack and voice talent. In addition, the English dub goes a step further and casts Deaf actress Lexi Cowden as Shoko, which is a rarity in the industry.
