Here is a wonderful, readable, picture book-sized biography of Shirley Chisholm, who worked hard for Blacks and for all Americans denied a voice in public affairs.  This book is aimed at children in grades 2-5, but adults will likely find something new here as well.  For example, I didn’t know that Chisholm spent a long stretch of her childhood in Barbados.
