Big Lies in a Small Town

A novel that travels from the present to the past (1940s) in a small North Carolina town.

This book has two strong women characters--one in the present and the other in the 1940s. Both are young artists. One is just out of prison and has an unusual opportunity to restore an old mural. The other won a contest to paint a mural for a town she is unfamiliar with. This book has racial tensions, mystery, and a strong historical picture of what life was like in the south in the 1940s. A member recommended this book and I truly enjoyed it. It was a page-turner from beginning to end.
