At the end of the previous (7th) season of this comedy featuring an eccentric cast of characters living in the idyllic Cornwall village of Portwenn, viewers are left wondering whether the curmudgeonly Doc Martin and his wife Louisa have decided to stay together.  Aside from their relationship problems, Louisa faces balancing the demands of motherhood and her position as headmistress.  Much of the comedy and antics of this season revolve around the upcoming nuptials of two villagers.  Fans of the series will enjoy the evolving storylines.
