If you’ve ever been asked, “Can we keep it?”

What usually comes next after “Can we keep it?” is the biggie, “I promise to take of it.” This is a nice story detailing the steps that lead to Lola and her family welcoming a cat into their family. It contains all the fun parts of having a pet in the family, like naming it and playing with it, but truly emphasizes the responsibilities of taking care of the pet. Lola even developed her own chore chart.

This book is part of a series that really represents a child’s love of reading, learning, and especially her library. We are introduced to Lola in the first book, “Lola goes to the Library.” I would highly recommend this series if you’re looking for books promoting reading, every day activities or changes in the family. Children who enjoy visiting the library and attending library programs will easily relate to this series.
