I know, I know, comics about troll-fighting Orthodox Jewish preteen girls are a dime a dozen nowadays, but I really think you should give this one a chance anyway.

Mirka Herschberg has a goal - to be a dragon slayer! Sure, it’s a little hard to find time to train for this job, considering she still has to do all her chores, help take care of her siblings, and go to school. And, of course, there’s the fact that there really aren’t any dragons hanging around her little town of Hereville. She’ll just have to face off against bullies, talking pigs, witches and some surprisingly crafty trolls instead.

Filled with fun artwork, clever dialogue, a glimpse into Orthodox Jewish culture and a charming heroine, this is a great fantasy graphic novel for middle-grade readers.
