Wisdom for high school seniors

Regardless of whether they know what they want to do with their lives or not, the default position for most high school seniors is to move directly to a four year college or university after graduation.  Given the price tag of higher education nowadays, this could potentially be a costly mistake.  The author argues that in the past college was a place for students to “find themselves” and discover what they want to do for a living.

This book is written for young people who are ambivalent about their career path.  A traditional college education may not be for everyone.  Morgan presents many different viable alternatives.  She walks readers through the pros and cons of each of these options. The final section contains a wealth of online resources related to opportunities that are presented in the book.

The overall message of Undecided is that at age 18 it’s ok to be unsure about your future.  Don’t succumb to the pressure to follow the norm.  There are many paths to a successful adult life.  Through self-discovery and hard work you can hone your skills and talents in order to pursue a fulfilling career.
