The Accidental Alchemist

A 300-year old vegan alchemist and a talking gargoyle solve crime in Portland, Oregon. Pandian’s new cozy opens with Zoe trying to start a new life in Portland Oregon and quickly follows with a talking gargoyle, a nosy teenager, the perfect cup of tea and, of course, murder. It probably shouldn’t work but this was a fun paranormal cozy hinging more on plant lore than magic (not counting the talking and gourmet cooking statue). If you like a little magic in your mysteries give this a try. Fans of Juliet Blackwell or Victoria Laurie take note.
