Sherlock: Season One

The world's most famous detective re-imagined in the 21st century.

In Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss’s Sherlock, Benedict Cumberbatch (Creation--staff pick, Amazing Grace--staff pick) plays the amazing consulting detective, Sherlock Holmes, alongside Martin Freeman (from the UK version of The Office and Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy), as the smart and courageous Afghanistan veteran, Dr. John Watson. The show is witty and the dialogue very fast and I found myself wanting to watch it again just to catch a few more one-liners (especially with the first episode). Freeman and Cumberbatch play off each other fabulously. These three episodes left me wanting more and I was thrilled to find out that Series Two is in the works. Fans of Sherlock Holmes (And I’m speaking as a Jeremy Brett fan!), House, forensic mysteries (CSI, NCIS, Law & Order, etc.) or Doctor Who all might find something to like here.
