Freedom

I was a little late to the party when it came to reading Freedom by Jonathon Franzen, but I eventually arrived and it did not disappoint. Franzen tells the story of The Berglund’s, an upper middle class Midwest family. It follows the characters from youth to adulthood with life events that are marked with bigger world events and issues. The narrator David Ledoux does an excellent job capturing the different characters and their many emotions. It was an entertaining and thought-provoking listen and I would recommend it to anyone interested in the plight of the modern American family.
