Things for Creativity and Learning

Do you know about CADL’s Library of Things collection? In support of life-long learning and creativity, cardholders may borrow many practical or fun items from this special collection. The loan time is two weeks for all Things, which includes sewing machines, home improvement items, musical instruments and more. The Library of Things has been here for several years, but we are now excited to have Library of Things Jr., which are items especially for kids!

Library of Things Jr. items may be checked out with either a youth card or an adult card. Adults may check out one Library of Things item and one Things Jr. item at the same time. Late fines for adult things vary depending on the item, while the late fines for Jr. Things are twenty cents a day.

What types of Things are in the Jr. collection? CADL’s American Girl Dolls have been moved here, and there are now eleven different dolls to choose from, including two male dolls. There are board games, Magnatile sets, educational stem sets, launchpad computers and more. Browse the possibilities here and look for the blue “Junior” tag next to the Things for kids. Place a hold and pick it up at the branch of your choice.
