Andy Bourgeois Appointed CADL Downtown Lansing's New Public Service Head

Hello! For those of you I haven’t met yet, my name is Andy Bourgeois and I’m the new Public Service Head at CADL Downtown Lansing. I’m a Michigan native, growing up in Kalamazoo, before spending the next couple decades in Chicago and Phoenix. I’ve worked in a variety of libraries including special, government, academic and public settings. My wife – also a Michigander – and I decided we would like to be closer to our families, so I left my previous position with the Scottsdale Public Library system to join a lot of excellent people here at CADL just about a month ago.

I really enjoy being at the Downtown Lansing branch. The staff who coordinate our special collections like the Forest Parke Library and Archives and the Library of Things are right upstairs and that has really helped me get up to speed on many of the special things that make CADL unique. Downtown Lansing also provides interesting outreach opportunities, like being part of Boo at the Zoo! Events like that help me get to know a new part of my home state and meet CADL members from all over Ingham County.

I look forward to meeting you all, whether at the Downtown Lansing branch or at one of the many outreach events CADL staff attend throughout Ingham County.

Andy B., Public Service Head at CADL Downtown Lansing
