Malice

“It was just hate, pure, simple malice.”

In Malice, Higashino starts with the murder of a well-known author and uses the physical evidence to identify suspects. Something just doesn’t fit right for Detective Kaga. His investigation introduces characters from the victims’ past, getting their interpretation of events and people, helping him to decipher a motive. There was a lot going on in this story and I couldn’t wait to read it all. Higashino tied it all together in the end with a clear motive.
