Contemplate the nature of truth, humanity, and swords

This classic changed the way Japanese films were viewed in the U.S. and is often listed among the “best movies ever made.” I watched this with a friend who suggested it would be a good middle ground between my noir and westerns kick and their preference for more cerebral and experimental films. I was skeptical that a movie could fit that niche. I stand corrected. A great movie to contemplate the nature of humanity, study the art of filmmaking, and, of course, watch cool fight scenes.
