Thao

A must-read for anyone who has ever had their name mispronounced

Thao Lam takes her readers on a journey through the trials of having a constantly mispronounced name, with her gorgeous cut-paper collage illustrations combined with actual pictures from her school days. She tries on (or is given) different names throughout the book, but finally decides to stick with “Thao”. 
Although this seems like a simple and straightforward story, it’s very gratifying to know that other people have gone through the same things that you have. I would have loved to have this book as a child, and I hope it makes other children feel more accepted too.
