Mistborn: The Final Empire

A heist masquerading as rebellion. How can one crew decide the fate of the Final Empire?

As an avid fantasy reader, I have come to expect a familiar rhythm and expectation for any new world that I enter into. Mistborn does something remarkable in that it fulfills those familiar tropes then takes your farther than I had imagined. Not only does it have the perfect blend of likable thieves set out to do the impossible, but it also calls to mind the spark of rebellion that happens when the oppressed are tired of being oppressed and are seeking for their own freedom. The magic system was easy to understand, the politics and religion were immersive to the experience, and Sanderson did not fail to make me feel as if I could understand the ins and outs of the world he built. For fans of Six of Crows, The Grace of Kings, and the "Chaos Born" trilogy.
