This novel is a great update to Orwell's 1984. The same sort of big-brother society is described, but with some different, more intrusive functioning features. This spooky sort of governing body conducts memory and information wipes in order to enforce conformity. This book raises new philosophical ideas to this old theme by introducing new angles. Questions of identity, time and self are laid bare for both the protagonist and the reader to wonder and potentially uncover answers to.
