The Girls in the Picture was a fictional look at screenwriter Frances Marion, actress Mary Pickford, and many other familiar names in early Hollywood. It was a fascinating look at the creation of the movie star. Many historical events are woven into this clever story, including World War I, the love affair between Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks, and what Los Angeles was like in the early part of the twentieth century. I truly enjoy learning about history through a good story.
