Did FDR really ride to the Capitol in Scarface's limo?

According to a persistent urban legend, the car that transported President Franklin Roosevelt to the U.S. Capitol to deliver the speech announcing America’s entry into World War II had once belonged to gangster Al Capone.  Whether or not Roosevelt actually traveled in Capone’s ’28 Cadillac (most authorities seem to think that he did not) is almost irrelevant, because, by comparing the career trajectories of two ambitious, intelligent, and charismatic men who otherwise had little in common, the book suggests some of the weird historical intersections that wealth and power can bring.

Two Men and a Car makes U.S. history come alive for young automotive buffs.
