The White Crow

Based on the life of Rudolf Nureyev

A moving dramatization of the life of Rudolf Nureyev leading up to his defection to the West in 1961. The story is based on Julie Kavanagh’s Nureyev: The Life. Oleg Ivenko brings to life his passion, individuality, confidence, and arrogance. Rafe Fiennes plays Alexander Ivanovich Pushkin an instructor and mentor at the Vaganova School. The dancing is lovely and the suspense well-played considering we know he successfully defected.
