This true story of several members of a peace loving family that plots to kill Hitler to stop all of the horrific acts being carried out across Europe. Dietrich Bonhoeffer is a pastor who goes against his pacifist beliefs for the greater good in order to save thousands of Jewish people and others not wanted by Nazis. This gives a lot of historical references to what is occuring at the time and what led to the actions these brave people took against the norm of society. They risked their lives for the chance to save others when most people including the churches wanted to look the other way.
