Sisters Helen and Edith couldn't be more different. Helen is ambitious, willing to do anything to get what she wants. Edith is steady, hard-working, and loyal. The story of their estranged relationship as well as their lives and the life of Edith's granddaughter Diana is by turns heartbreaking and heartwarming. I also enjoyed the story of the evolutions of beer culture from the 1960s until now and the spot on depiction of Minnesotan culture. Narrator Judith Ivey gets the accent and the tone just right.
