Ruth and the Green Book

Ruth's family were going on their first road trip.

Ruth's dad bought a new car--a 1952 Buick, so her family decided to take a road trip from Chicago to Alabama to visit her grandmother. They quickly discovered some people were not so happy to see them. They were denied the normal things you need on trips--gasoline, food, restrooms, and sleeping accommodations. Then someone told them about a wonderful thing called a Green Book.
