Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil

The story of many eccentric Savannah residents comes to life.

This story is a nonfiction work that reads like fiction, which I greatly enjoy.  This follows several eccentric Savannah residents throughout the murder trial of a playboy killed by one of the most prominently known socialites.  This follows a first person account of the twists and turns of the murder trial and his introduction and relationships he observes and maintains throughout the book.  He becomes a chauffeur for a local "drag queen", guest at the most prominent xmas party of the year, attendee of a debutante ball, and tags along with a local voodoo priestess.  This is a masterfully written piece of work about an intriguing Southern town.
