Learn how to transform technology into a force for good in your home

Many parents feel overwhelmed by the influence that technology has on contemporary family life. They are especially concerned about the influence of social media on the lives of their children and the specter of them being exposed to digital pornography at a young age. Conversely, many children feel “virtually” abandoned by their parents because they are frequently tethered to their laptops and smartphones due to the demands of the modern 24/7 workplace.

In The Tech-wise Family, the author offers advice based on his own family’s experience on how to take one’s home back from the alluring grip of technology and the vices that its spawns. He believes that “it is possible to love and use all kinds of technology but still make radical choices to prevent technology from taking over our lives.” Crouch addresses this issue from a spiritual perspective. He is unabashedly Christian and is very honest about his family’s struggles and challenges with their own use of technology. Although this may be off-putting for some readers, overall, I felt the tone of the book is sincere, but not preachy. I recommend it because I think it’s a helpful resource for any family who is attempting to “tame” the technology in their home.
