Just Kill Me

Eighteen-year-old Megan, a goth girl who lives above a funeral home with her mortician mom, is happy to land a job working for a small-but-spunky Chicago ghost-tour company where she can make good use of her skill as a wordsmith and her interest in all things morbid.   But with ghost sightings few and far between, business lags.  That’s when Megan’s coworkers try to enlist her aid in a supposedly can’t-miss plan: to create ghosts using terminally ill volunteers from a nursing home who are eager to pass on. 

 

Loaded with actual Chicagoland ghost stories, a bit of romance (Megan has a long-distance girlfriend and shares a kiss with a mysterious stranger), and lots of dark humor, Just Kill Me is a good choice if you like contemporary fiction with a touch of urban fantasy.
