True Detective

Two cops working together, a common theme, but this series takes the common and makes it into a phenomenal series.  Woody Harrelson is the family man, with morals that he adjusts to fit his circumstances.  Matthew McConaughey is the outsider, returned to department. They are both involved with the reopening of a homicide they previously investigated.  Their interrogations, move back and forth to fill the viewer in on their past troubled relationship.  The acting by both of these men is outstanding.  Anyone selecting this DVD series will be thrilled that they don’t have to wait till the next episode airs on HBO, because each one has twists that keeps one in suspense.
