Circus Galacticus

Teenaged orphan Trix, misunderstood and bullied at her strict boarding school, joins a dazzling band of circus performers who turn out to be intergalactic sojourners.  Although Trix faces her share of social anxiety trying to fit in with her new colleagues (who come from a variety of worlds), as well as many dangers inherent in the circus's mysterious mission, she ultimately (and almost literally) finds her place in the universe.

 

This book is upbeat in tone and would be a fine match for anyone who enjoys an underdog-who-makes-good story, while the sense of Space Age awe and wonder is just the icing on this superstellar treat.
