Snowflakes Fall

Patricia MacLachlan and Steven Kellogg collaborated on this beautiful book in the aftermath of the tragedy at Sandy Hook. Both have ties to Connecticut, with Kellogg living in the area for 35 years.

 

The artwork is wonderfully detailed and the simple, poetic words about the joy of childhood, remembering, and the unique beauty of each snowflake can be read on many levels. A wonderful read aloud, young children will experience it as a celebration of changing seasons and adults will be moved by its simple power.
