Sound City—Real to Reel

Released in conjunction with Grohl’s rockumentary Sound City, a 2013 Sundance film festival pick, this collection of all new music recorded on the defunct studios classic mixing board featuring iconic Sound City artists including Stevie Nicks, Rick Springfield, Trent Reznor, Paul McCartney, and the rest of the surviving members of Nirvana. This is an interesting collection of rockers (all over the spectrum) getting together to jam. It’s a mixed bag just based on the styles represented and meshed but it’s definitely worth a listen.
