This dark epic fantasy takes place in a world where mankind is nightly decimated by demons—their only protection, meticulously drawn wards. But a younger generation begins to question man’s inability to fight the terrifying creatures and searches for a way to take back the night. Dark and enthralling, I found myself caring very much for the three lead characters and curious about the sacrifices they will inevitably have to make. Fans of Karen Miller’s Kingmaker, Kingbreaker books (beginning with The Innocent Mage), The Night Angel trilogy by Brent Weeks (beginning with The Way of Shadows), or even Raymond E. Feist’s Darkwar Saga (starting with Magician: Apprentice) should give this a try.
