This coming-of-age tale set in a barren landscape captured my interest right away. The pages were filled with obstacles that were unfamiliar yet I related to Leni easily. I became annoyed that I had responsibilities other than reading. Discovering the final scenes of the story was my mission. Readers of The Mosquito Coast, The Poisonwood Bible or Educated would enjoy this adventure.
