Living in the Murder Mitten

Tayari's spoken word poetry gives an authentic and unapologetic glimpse of life growing up on the streets of Detroit, MI. He tells of what is given, what is taken, and what is witheld; he speaks of those whose struggles are not forgotten, but intentionally ignored. This piece is a rallying-cry for those whose souls are run ragged by systemic racism and oppression, 
targeted-policing, and generational trauma to speak their truth, to speak it loudly, and to make their voices be heard.
