There's a sequel to "George" by Alex Gino, and you need to read it now.

If you loved George by Alex Gino, you'll love the sequel, Rick.  You don't need to read George to love Rick, but it only enhances the story.

In George, we meet George, who was born a male, but inside, knows she is a girl.  You find out that George used to be friends with Rick, and they had fun together.  However, since Rick started being friends with Jeff, Rick didn't hang out with George anymore.

Rick follows Rick's story, a couple years after George.  Now that they are entering middle school, it's a new world.  His best friend, Jeff, and his dad keep making comments to Rick, though, saying that he'll like girls soon...but what if he doesn't?  Rick notices George, who now goes by Melissa, and finds that she's really nice and happy.  Rick finds out there's an after school club called the Rainbow Spectrum, a support group for LGBTQIAP+.  It opens up a new world for Rick, and he starts questioning everything about him - from his friendship with Jeff to how he sees others to how he labels himself.

Read by the author, Alex Gino, this audiobook is a touching tribute to understanding and learning about LGBTQIAP+ people and culture.  In addition to that, it's easy to identify with Rick's hard decision to completely change how his life has been during his middle school years.

A beautiful story of acceptance, kindness, and love - you won't want to put it down.
