Battle Bunny

This is one of those children’s books that’s meant for adults as much as kids.   Here, a boy named Alex receives a picture book called Birthday Bunny as a gift.  Using a pencil, an eraser, and his own vivid imagination, Alex changes the saccharine sweet story into a rollicking whompfest complete with explosions, smack talk, and a thwarted quest for world domination. 

Share this with older children (who presumably know not to write in library books!) and let them enjoy the subversive genius of two master humorists for young people.
