Listening to this audiobook is like having a pirate read you a bedtime story: The narrator has a deliciously grizzled voice perfect for these tales of Jack Plank, a wannabe pirate who just can't get a hang of the whole plundering thing. Jack tries to find honest work in a little Caribbean harbor town, but finds each prospective job unsuitable for a variety of reasons, usually involving a troll, a mermaid, a mummy, a treasure chest -- you know, the usual.
