If you’re applying to become a United States citizen or just want to brush up on your English speaking and reading skills, we have fun and informational events for you.

 

U.S. Citizenship Series (Adults) – CADL Downtown Lansing Branch, 401 S. Capitol Ave.

This is a series of informational meetings for individuals who are interested in becoming a citizen of the United States. Come to one, two, or all three if you’d like.

1.       The Naturalization Process: How to Become a U.S. Citizen

·         Wednesday, May 1 • 5:30 – 7 p.m.

2.       Overview of the U.S. Citizenship Test – Part 1: Civics

·         Wednesday, May 8 • 5:30 – 7 p.m.

3.       Overview of the U.S. Citizenship Test – Part 2: Speaking, Reading, and Writing

·         Wednesday, May 15 • 5:30 – 7 p.m.

 

Drop-in U.S. Citizenship Test Prep (Adults) – CADL South Lansing Branch, 3500 S. Cedar St.

Join us to practice for the USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services) Naturalization Test in a relaxed setting.

·         Every Tuesday • 1 – 2 p.m.

Speaking, Reading and Writing Events – CADL Okemos Branch, 4321 Okemos Rd.

ESOL Reading Groups (Adults) – Practice your English reading and speaking skills by reading articles, books and short stories aloud. This group does not provide formal English instruction.

·         Wednesday’s, May 1-15 • 12 – 1:30 p.m.

ESOL Discussion Group for Kids (Grade’s 3 & Up) – Practice reading, writing, speaking and listening to English. Each session features a different theme with a story, games and/or crafts. No one younger than grade 3, please. Limited to the first 20 children to arrive.
