A library card is one of the most important school supplies kids can have. CADL is partnering with MSU Federal Credit Union, Celebration! Cinema and Eastwood Towne Center to make sure that EVERY student has one.
The Library Card Challenge spreads this message in a fun and exciting way. Both schools and youth organizations can win prizes just by participating!
We're inviting students in grades K-8 to accept the challenge by signing up as a class or school for Youth One Book cards.
The cards are free and allow them to check out one item at a time from any of CADL's 13 branches or Mobile Library. They also allow kids to use our digital books and magazines, plus databases like Learning Express Library and World Book Kids, all available at cadl.org.
A classroom, school or youth group agrees to sign up for the challenge. They will be filmed for a TV spot that shows them accepting the challenge.
Every student who participates will receive a small prize.
Classes, schools or groups that participate will receive a visit from a live performer (schedule to be mutually determined by CADL and organization).
Teachers or group leaders will be entered into a drawing for tickets to local live performances.
