Author, attorney, delegate to the 1961 Michigan Constitutional Convention, and former Chair of the Ingham County Board of Commissioners, Eugene G. Wanger studies, publishes and collects on a variety of subjects. Mr. Wanger is one of the three original incorporators, past president and life member of the R. E. Olds Transportation Museum in Lansing, Michigan, and was awarded a Certificate of Recognition by the Historical Society of Michigan in connection with these activities. In 1984, he organized and chaired the first general purpose antique truck show held in Michigan, and organized the Michigan Chapter of the American Truck Historical Society. He served as the Chapter's President, and for many years was a member of the national board of the American Truck Historical Society. He is a longtime member of the REO Club of America and has owned two antique REO motor vehicles.
This archival collection contains papers, photographs and artifacts that cover the history of the REO auto company and its products. Many of the items have been digitized and are available by requesting the item title and number (example: Truck Catalog, "REO Light Motor Trucks", 16 p. #361).
