Pike’s debut novel is a treat! Laurel Sewell is starting high school in a new town after years of homeschooling and it only brings home the differences in her and the other kids--like her need to be outside or her special diet. But she slowly begins to settle in, even meeting a guy… but then she starts to grow wings. This is a well-written and original take on some well known myths and legends. Fans of Stephanie Myers, Holly Black, Justine Larbalestier, or Charles De Lint should check it out.
