The team of writers, artists, and researchers behind this book have somehow managed to make a graphic novel about math and philosophy entertaining, educational, and easy to read (even for those of us who hated math in high school). It takes the form of a biography of the great philosopher and logician Bertand Russell, charting his life from youth to maturity as he develops his ideas about the logical foundations of the world. Along the way, Russell attempts to apply his theories of mathematical logic to his complex romantic relationships and to the specter of mental illness that hangs over his family. A beautiful portrait of a fascinating man.
