Fat Cat by Robin Brande
Would you turn yourself into a living science experiment?
Cat Locke, a high school junior, becomes her own science experiment when she decides to try and live as similarly as possible to prehistoric man. She changes her diet, cuts herself off from all nonessential technology, and vows to live a simpler life for seven months. As her lifestyle changes begin to improve her overall appearance, Cat finds herself at the center of previously unknown male attention. Unsure of how to deal with this, things are further complicated by the changing relationship that is evolving with her former best friend Matt. Cat begins to learn that just because she has simplified her lifestyle doesn’t mean she has simplified her life.
