Maybe This Time by Jennifer Crusie
Crusie’s first solo title since Bet Me is proof that she’s still an expert at writing laugh-out-loud romantic comedy.
As Maybe This Time opens Andromeda Miller is ready to make peace with her ex-husband after ten years and marry her almost-fiancé. But when she decides to go talk to North Archer before accepting another man’s proposal he asks for one last favor. He’s been left two orphaned children who won’t leave their rundown home and have driven away three nannies. Andie is the perfect solution she can handle anything. But even Andie needs a hand when the problems at “The House of Archer” come to include hauntings, her ex-brother-in-law and his exploitive journalist girlfriend, a medium, a parapsychologist, her ex-mother-in-law, and her mother. Andie and North will have to work together to sort out the nuts in this creepy manor. Crusie has a gift for comedic dialogue and fun romance and remains one of my top got to authors for laugh out loud comedy.
