The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
Bod Owens is adopted by the residents of the cemetery next door.
Check out Neil Gaiman’s award-winning novel The Graveyard Book. This story has something for older children and adults. It’s a modern take on Kipling’s Jungle Book, (not the Disney version)—In this case the orphaned child, Nobody Owens, is adopted and protected by the residents of an abandoned graveyard. The story is beautifully written, the audio version is amazing and it’s won, so far, the Newbery, Audie (audiobook), and Hugo Awards for best novel.
