Savannah Breeze
by Mary Kay Andrews
There hadn’t even been time for a scar to form. BeBe Loudermilk had been dumped by her fiancée shortly before meeting Reddy at a society bash – smooth, considerate, Jaguar-owning Reddy, who seemed the answer to so many woes.
It only took him a few weeks to con her out of her life savings, her home and her restaurant, leaving BeBe with nothing but a rundown 1950s motel on Tybee Island, Georgia. The leaking roofs and ghastly interiors come with a crotchety (but interesting) caretaker. Sparks fly literally and figuratively as the two whip the units into retro chic shape.
When Reddy is spotted in Fort Lauderdale, BeBe hatches a reverse scam to get her money back and put him in jail. Success depends on whether her grandfather can successfully pretend to be a ship broker and her caretaker impersonates a yacht-owning rock star. How tough could that be?
