The Slaves’ War: The Civil War in the Words of Former Slaves by Andrew Wa2011 Black History Month

In honor of the efforts of people of African descent to destroy slavery and inaugurate universal freedom in the United States, the Association for the Study of African American Life and History has selected “African Americans and the Civil War” as the 2011 Black History Month Theme. African American Authors Reading Circle is a book discussion group that meets the second Tuesday of every month at our Downtown Lansing Library and a CADL-produced E-mail Newsletter.  The monthly newsletter suggests great fiction by African American authors. Titles featured and discussed are available in the Ethnic Collection at the Downtown Lansing Library.
