Ford Ceasar Lansing Schools Photograph Collection
Ford S. Ceasar was born in Clinton County, Michigan on August 16, 1911. Ceasar’s professional career centered in education, as he was a teacher and a school administrator for nearly 35 years. As part of the bicentennial celebrations in Michigan, Ceasar was commissioned to write “The Bicentennial History of Ingham County”. Other historical publications include “Forgotten Communities of Central Michigan”, “The Lamp Road”, and “The ‘Great Northern’ Ghost”. He remained active in historic endeavors, as a member of the Greater Lansing Historical Society, the Michigan Historical Society, the New York State Historical Association, and the American Association for State and Local History. He also served as historian for the Gunnisonville School Restoration project and as secretary-treasurer of the United Methodist Church Historical Society. He died in Lansing on September 29, 1994. This collection represents one of several series of photographs found in his larger collection at CADL. The structure and naming of the files is as Ford Ceasar organized and identified them.
