Is a word used to modify the meaning of a. v. Adj., Part. or an. adv." spine and covers worn, covers slightly loose, 
Moral Philosophy; or, the Science of Obligation James H. Fairchild in black ink, stamped three times on two pages "R. E. Waterbury", and in pencil on the 3rd page R.E. (?) good.  Removed note "This Fairchild claimed to have acquired "The Manuscript Found" - claimed by anti-mormons as source of "Book of Mormon."
Murray's English Reader Jeremiah Goodrich in brown ink on first blank page "P. Allen's Book, Vernon, 1833 (?)24th" Front cover completely off, foxing.  Limit patron use.
New National First Reader Charles J. Barnes and J. Marshall Hawkes In pencil on first blank page, "Alice Flanagan." spine and cover recently reinforced inside, stable and good condition
Practical Arithmetic, by Induction and Analysis Joseph Ray, M.D. in black ink on back of cover, "This book was used in school by my father about 1858 probably in Clareport, Ohio.  C.F. Young, Grand Ledge, Mich." and stamped in blue ink "G.A. Young" spine and covers worn, covers slightly loose, few pages torn, loose.  Limit patron use.
Robinson's Progressive Intellectual Arithmetic (edited by Daniel W. Fish, A.M.) in pencil on first blank page "Alice M. Flanagan Lansing, Michigan March 31st, 1880" very good.  Removed "Presented to Alice Flanagan" quill card.
Sanders' New Speller, Definer, and Analyzer Charles W. Sanders, A.M. in pencil on first blank page "Miss Margaret (?) (?) March 4 1862  stable

The American Botanist and Florist Alphonso Wood, A.M. in pencil on back of front cover "A.C. Stebbins, Agr(?) Lansing Aug 21 - 1878, Mich", a bookseller's stamp upper right corner of next page in purple ink, next page lists of fractions, last page "Alg. 10-6-10-, Chem - 7, Bot 10-10-0" spine very worn, but fairly stable.
The American Intellectual Arithmetic John F. Stoddard, A.M. in pencil on first blank page "Margaret Moon Book Nov 9, 1858", in ink on first blank page "Margaret Moon" slightly worn, but fairly stable.
The Institutes of English Grammar Goold Brown in pencil on first blank page "M (Michael) Flanagan Woodhull (?) Mich." some water damage, fairly stable.  Removed "Reward of Merit Presented to Michael Flanagan"
The Model First Reader J. Russell Web in pencil on first blank page "Johnnie Flanagan School Book" worn, slightly fragile.  
The New Expositor W. Jones, Bookseller (?) black and brown ink on back of both covers, most unintelligible.  "Allen's Book" on back of front cover, "Joseph Allen" on page preceding preface. VERY FRAGILE, available only with permission obtained in advance.  Front and back cover nearly off, spine almost completely exposed, pages loose.
The New School Reader: Fourth Book Charles W. Sanders, A.M. in pencil on first blank page "Miss Margaret Moon's Book, (?)hill March, 5 1862."  next page, a poem in pencil almost mint, removed "Ayer's Cherry Pectoral Cures Colds, Coughs, and all Diseases of the Throat and Lungs" advertisement, "Home and Friends" newspaper clipping by Parmenas Mix, lines of penmanship practice, with the note "i was seven years old when i rote this" and paper photo holder
