The Central Fire Station Fire

View of the Central Fire Station After the FireThe January 20, 1910 edition of the State Journal reported that "CITY IS LUCKY" - Central Station was not damaged much by the Fire.

According to Fire Chief Delfs the damage to Central Fire station by fire Wednesday was not as great as first estimated. The chief announced Thursday that the roof can be repaired for $25 and it is believed that the plastering will not fall because of the soaking given it while fighting the flames from the attic. The walls of the station needed decorating and as the work will be accomplished by the expense will equal only the cost of the materials used.

The fire loss to the station is now estimated to be less than $50.
